Mission Statement
The primary purpose of the Auxiliary shall be to raise funds, and to add to the comfort and welfare of patients receiving the services of Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital.
To assist the administration of the Hospital and to foster good relations between the hospital and the public.

The Auxiliary is made up of 55 dedicated volunteers who give willing of their time to raise money to purchase new and replacement equipment for the local hospital. We operate a busy Thrift shop located in Vavenby, BC; a Gift Corner located in the hospital and run two major fundraisers each year. (Spring Garden Party and in the fall the 50/50 Raffle for $5000) These four fundraisers are all completely staffed by volunteers and all funds raised are put towards purchasing equipment.
For the comfort of all patients that stay in the hospital, the Auxiliary provides TV’s with cable service free of charge to all acute care rooms as well as music and cable service to Forest View Extended Care lounge area, palliative care room and family room. These services have proven invaluable for patients that must stay in hospital for an extended period.
As a Registered Society, we are able to provide Tax Receipts for all donations made to our fundraisers and to our Auxiliary.
